PERIODIC CLASSIFICATION OF ELEMENT -- CHAPTER-02 - 10- CLASS- CHEM

Ø Elements and their classification
Ø Dobereiner’s Triads
Ø Newlands Law of Octaves
Ø Mendeleev’s Periodic Table
Ø Modern Periodic Table

Introduction:-
Previously, the element was classified into basically three groups.
1. Metals
2. Non-metals
3. Metalloids
❖ But this classification was insufficient to study the element. Because of the following reasons
1. The number of an element discovered was increasing.
2. Out of them, some elements were similar in chemical properties while some were different.
3. To study these elements systematically it was necessary to classify.

❖ Dobereiner’s triads:-
````````
1. Triads:-
The group of three elements which shows similar chemical properties known as ‘Triads’
Dobereiner was a German scientist whose full name is Johann Wolfgang Dobereiner. [1780-1849]
